Fruitarian Diet
“Fruits are the natural food for man.” Flourens “Then God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the entire earth and every tree that has fruit with seeds in it. They will be yours for food, every green plant.’ God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Genesis 1: 29-31 “Stop desecrating your sacred body with such an abominable diet. The land around us grows the most exquisite and delicious fruits in plenty. The Earth gives enough nourishment from just its vegetable realm, without the need for torture and violence.” Pythagoras A subgroup of the vegan diet and similar in philosophy to the vegetarian diet, the fruitarian diet is as basic as its name implies – only the fruit of the plant is considered as essential food and nothing else. True frugivores, or those who strictly follow the fruitarian diet because they are physiologically predisposed to eating only fruits believe that this type of a diet covers and sufficiently provides for their full range of nutrients. Fruitarians on the other hand are those who consciously choose a diet that is basically built on fruits for health and/or ecological or environmental reasons. Fruitarians only consume fruits, nuts and seeds of the plant as well as other plant matter that can be gathered without harming the plant. This is because they believe that:
